Alpine skiing: Sellaronda and Plan de Corones

Ski enthusiasts find excitement on the slopes of Plan de Corones and the famous Sellaronda ski circuit around the Sella group. The Piculin cable car, just 3.5 kilometres (approximately 2.2 miles) from our farmstay, provides quick access to a vast ski area with hundreds of kilometres of slopes suitable for all skill levels. The free ski bus, exclusively for Dolomiti Superski ski pass holders, simplifies travel across all ski areas and enables a convenient connection between San Martino in Badia and Plan de Corones. The challenging black ski runs, widely known as the "Black Five," promise exciting descents, supported by advanced snowmaking systems that guarantee flawless snow conditions for an unforgettable experience on the slopes.

Christmas markets and local delicacies

During the holiday season, San Vigilio di Marebbe and Brunico are enlivened by traditional Christmas markets set in charming wooden huts. Numerous quaint villages convey a fairy-tale ambiance with twinkling lights and melodies. Visitors can enjoy mulled wine alongside Ladin specialties such as Krapfen (delicious fried dough pastries customarily filled with jam), Strudel (a flaky pastry with a spiced apple filling), and buckwheat cake. The magic can also be felt in the intricately crafted nativity scenes and concerts that warm even the coldest winter evenings.

Cross-country skiing and sledding

Guests seeking a quieter winter experience can escape to expertly maintained cross-country ski trails, including the 23 kilometres (approximately 14.29 miles) Rautal track and picturesque loops in Antermoia and at Passo delle Erbe, framed by the pristine environment of the Puez-Odle Nature Park. Families will delight in a variety of sledding runs – among them Plan Ranciogn in Longiarù, the FISI-certified “Do Juvel” track, and the impressive descents at Passo delle Erbe and Plan de Corones.
